After 26 hours of travel time, we made it! Our flights were long (13 hours to Tokyo, 6.5 hours to Bangkok) but uneventful, and our bags even arrived on our flight despite a delay and an almost-missed connection. Attawaytogo, United. We are excited to be here... and super excited to wave goodbye to winter.
We got in late last night so have mostly just spent today relaxing and getting acquainted with our new home. The Sasa House (where we are staying) is clean and cozy, no complaints there. We met up with Jen (friend from Kellogg) and Katie (friend from UVA/UNC) and wandered around the neighborhood... found that we live next to a gigantic mall with literally everything you could ever need to purchase, so I'm feeling a little stupid about all the random stuff I fretted about getting in the US before leaving. The top floor of the mall is a food court with every type of Asian food, so we hit that up for lunch. $1.50 will buy you just about anything you want... awesome. Will post pictures soon!
